the definition of monotonous is when it takes 3 hours to drive from one community to the next. now imagine this time period with no wifi or radio and on the sounds of the vehicle beneath you. now picture yourself when all you can see and feel is a black velvet curtain backdrop (even when the sun shines through the windows) that leaves you in a vacuum. well, not really just in a lonely vacuum.
with noise bombarding around 24/7 it pulls you into a blurred facade of what is now considered peacefulness so even when you think you are alone even though you never are. through what is now call the *iCloud, technology has reached out and taken away the mute button and replaced it with a continuous loop of sound. when you find yourself within the confines of a carriage (or whichever mode of transportation you find yourself in) and with headphones on there is still that inaudible muffled sound coming from an *iPod playing music or podcasts, or from the tv on the back of a headrest playing cartoons which is now considered the norm for silence. though truth be told that even this type of quietness creates a bond of togetherness. mind you this aloneness does let one finish knitting that baby bonnet or reading a chapter or two from that book left on the nightstand collecting dust.
in conclusion in today's society it takes a conscious effort to be enveloped in the quietness that when the air that you breathe creates a solemn stillness of tranquility.
A Faerie Nursery!!
Our nursery is certainly not your everyday garden by any means.
As if mingled with the seeds sprinkled in an ornamental garden...which have been dipped in hues
of a coloured rainbow...kissed with aroma of a midsummer's bouquet...bringing a breathtaking
and magical feel that can only be found in our enchanted nursery.
Welcome to the nursery..... www.faerienursery.com

How to Make the Fluttering Stop
staying awake is a natural thing that we all have to deal with but how about when you need to not be yawning?
here are a few iron clad methods to help you with the long and tedious drive to the nursery
~~ try to stay focused on the surroundings out the window by counting trees, birds and perhaps the telephone poles as they flash by
~~ the blast of cold from the air conditioner while on high or better yet rolling down the window and sticking your head out with the hopes of now swallowing a bug
~~ do yoga are stretches that won't knock-out the passenger or break off the rearview mirror off
~~ count the burnt-out headlights as you pass an on-coming vehicle or for a bonus point count them as they approach in your rearview mirror
~~ whistle in tune with the snoring coming from the seat beside you
~~ listen to a book-on-tape where *** Chewbacca actually talks??
~~ sing out loud to songs from the 1980's
and my all time favourite -- the tipping of your hat, curtseying, kneeling, and well even just the act of nodding your head as you acknowledge each tree that is leaning over as if wanting to jump over to the other side of the road as everyone needs to have an adventure, even trees.
on a side note though -- have you found that the time TO get where you are going can almost be unbearable and yet the drive BACK seems to be half the distances. even though the illusion of time taking longer or slower, i'm happy that you came to visit.

Summer Time
I have had a difficult time coming up with different ideas for my 'summer' item in the larger Faerie Suites.
Each trinket chest currently has a pair of flip flops, an envelope, a parcel and three packages of seeds but I have always added a decoration of some type. This has ranged all the way from a single flower, a bird house, a watering can ... well you get the idea, something summery.
I have seen so many different things on Etsy but unfortunately when you start to multiply the costs and how many I would need, it just makes it too expensive.
I have always loved those wee little door signs that you can get. They come in all different sizes and shapes and colours and themes....
So, I figured I was just going to play today to see if I could come up with something myself with products I already have in the nursery.
These aren't perfect by any means but I think they actually ended up quite cute. They will fit nicely in the trinket chest and look wonderful hanging on the doors.
