Wow, that sounded like an ominous title for a posting!!
Lots of decisions have been made here at the faerie nursery...
WEBSITE
1. I would like to apologize as it seems our Etsy link button on our website does not take you to our Shop Front but only takes you to the Etsy main page. This will be fixed shortly.
2. We will be adding the icon buttons for both PinInterest and LinkedIn to the website and here on the blog.
3. We have been informed that when you press on the button link pages at the top that the colour of the words are not visible. This too will be fixed shortly.
4. As it seems that it takes FOREVER to go through the whole Flickr album, I will now be limiting the number of faeries available to view to 25. Please note though that there are more and if you do not find the faerie that you think will fit into your home or lifestyle, please contact me using the comments section on the webpage and I will be able to show more photos.
5. It seems I have never mentioned on the website that each petal faerie is unique and special, with her own name and background story. This will be added to the top of the page under creations.
6. Speaking of titles for the website pages, I have decided to have the name creations removed and changed to Petal Faerie. This will allow us to expand and add pages to allow albums for the faerie doors, trinket chests, bauble faeries and babies. Each will have their own pages and Flickr albums.
BLOG
1. This site will be shortly changed to match the rest of the Enchanted Pathways Faerie Nursery sites. I can't wait for things to look the same across the board.
PININTEREST
1. I joined PinInterest through an invite many months ago but I have never even looked at the site until a friend recommended that I put my petal faeries on there. So I now have all 76 petal faeries pinned.
LINKEDIN
1. I have now joined LinkedIn as the second person I know recommended the site. I have not had a chance to look at it...but I've joined it!!
Again, please have patience as our web designer is currently on holidays :)
A Faerie Nursery!!
Our nursery is certainly not your everyday garden by any means.
As if mingled with the seeds sprinkled in an ornamental garden...which have been dipped in hues
of a coloured rainbow...kissed with aroma of a midsummer's bouquet...bringing a breathtaking
and magical feel that can only be found in our enchanted nursery.
Welcome to the nursery..... www.faerienursery.com

Dipping Toes!!
Well Sharin, our little mascot faerie all the way from San Francisco had a wonderful day in the sunshine. She was outside dipping her wee little toes into the bird bath. We weren't able to get any pictures with the birdies but thought everyone would enjoy seeing her anyways.

And as the weekend goes on between sanding all the little doors (I found my protective safety glasses finally), I will be putting more faeries up on the site...

Close the Door by Teddy Pendergrass
Figured this blog should be set to music....so I chose this song by Teddy Pendergrass, I hope you enjoy it:
So obviously today's blog is all about doors! Doors and even more doors.
A massive thank you goes to hubby for cutting out my latest batch of wee little faerie doors.
We ended up with 13 of larger doors and 48 of the smilers one!!
And that's a whole lot of doors.
So now the rest of the work is up to me.
These doors will all need to be sanded down. Next they will be coated with out
Varathane Diamond Wood Finish Outdoor Water Based sealant.
Here are the pictures of the doors in the 'raw'.
As you can see there is a lot of character and markings on the wood.
I can't wait to see them finished.
Again thank you to Freund's Building Supplies for the donation :)

Success!!
The guardians at the faerie nursery today were out and about in the woods today.
Not only was it a wonderful, sunny spring day but we found faerie pods!!
Some were pretty disguised in with the local flora and fauna but when you
know what you are looking they seem a bit easier to find.
After an hour or so we were able to bring back to nursery about 20 seed pods.
We will let these pods dry out so the wee little faerie babies have nice new beds.
We even had help from Fionn (Jack Russell) and Ciaran, both being very helpful on the hunt.

Newest News from the Nursery
It has been a week of getting little things done that don't really seem to amount to much but still they need to be done.
Check list:
Order new paper cutter. I figured the nursery needed a paper cutter of its own so I could cut out the new guardian ship papers and all of the little cards that go with an order. Note to self....paper cutters are sharp! Figured I had it all under control with just two little bandaids and a larger on top until I bent my fingers down. Next step off to find hubby to assist with stopping the bleeding. I hadn't even cut one piece of paper and I was banned from using the new paper cutter for almost a week! Back to normal now, good scars mind you....but I have developed a good working relationship with my new paper cutter (it was a wee bit tense there for awhile).
Order new business cards. Yes, this is now my third set of business cards. Now that the Faerie Nursery has an official logo and font and website I have now attempted hopefully my last for awhile order of new business cards. Just got my notification from Vista Print that they have been placed in the post :)
Order a new monitor for the iMac. My computer screen has now developed the most annoying mind you pretty coloured lines on it. While the lines themselves are quite attractive and make the coolest of designs I have finally broken down and ordered a new stand alone monitor so I can see things a bit better. On a side note, I ordered the new monitor from the same place I got the new paper cutter from. I was ensured that there would be NO sharp corners on the new monitor.
Business meeting with 'secret partner' Debora. We had another awesome brainstorming session earlier on this week. A new work schedule has been developed so we can get a good handle on hopefully a VERY successful upcoming Christmas season.
Etsy, who would have thought that there was sooo much to do behind setting up an Etsy Shop. Almost done though and should be able to place my first faeries on this weekend.
Website is up and running and a big thank you goes out to Shawn. There are still a few tweaks that we find but only stuff that is behind the scenes. I think it looks fantabulous myself.
Doors are now being drawn out. As I am unable to actually cut out the doors, hubby dearest will be doing this daunting task for me (as from above, me and sharp objects do not get along that well). With it being the long weekend this will be a great time for the doors to be cut as it will allow me to do the sanding when it is nice out.
Order new miniatures. We have decided to allow the customer to customize their kit when ordering a faerie, door and trinket chest. As getting these new miniatures in take added time to new guardians receiving their faeries, we have decided to preempt and order a few things ahead of time. The trinket chests themselves will not have any products removed or substituted out but these specialized items will come in their own wee little paper bag for you to give to your faerie.
Accounting books are always a daunting task but I have been able to keep things in line and am completing my log entries once a week. The paperwork behind a company is always the must UN-FUN part of it all.
Packing boxes, we are in the process of ordering new packing boxes as we never thought beyond our faeries! There will now be boxes available for shipping out doors, faeries and trinket chests both in the gift box style for local purchases and in the corrugated cardboard for mailing. There will also be shipping boxes for the teacups and faeries together as well.
So as you can see, lots has been done over the last week or so but only the stuff that is behind the scenes.
The nursery staff will be doing another walk soon to see if there are any new seed pods that need to be collected...that's the FUN part :)

Guardianship Papers
We here at the Faerie Nursery thought it would be nice to include some type of document with each faerie when she found a new home to wander off to. After a bit of research and brainstorming we came up with 'Guardianship Papers'. As you can never 'own' a faerie and she is there only as long as she is happy we thought that a better word than adoption would be guardian.
These Guardianship papers will come with your faerie's name hand written by one of our staff, the date she left the nursery and where she is off to. We will leave the guardians name for you to fill in, just in case she is a gift for someone special. If you prefer we can also leave the location off if you request in advance.
A big thank you goes out to Sherry at The Business Center for printing off all of documents. Please check out her Face Book site if you ever need anything printed: The Business Center

The Making of Faerie Doors
Over the weekend we were able to drop into Freund's Building Supply and they again this year allowed us to go and pick out wood pieces from their sawdust pile for more faerie doors. They used to run a sawmill out in their field and all of this wood has been left to weather and develop awesome characteristics over the years. I can't wait to start these.
And we are live!
Well after a few months of work... the web page is now live :)
A big thank you goes to Shawn who designed it (and had to put up with me saying....but how about this colour, nah, lets try this colour instead), hubby dearest for his input, Meagan for her wonderful words behind the story of the Faerie Nursery and all of you for your patience and help.
Please enjoy :)

Back Home
Well after a 10 day trip down south to do a massive shopping spree I can guarantee you the nursery is well stocked all the way from new tools, wires, decorations, clear baubles and over 1000 flower heads.
A big thank you goes out to Sherry for her great printing job. We now have our 'adoption papers', disclaimer forms and box labels all ready to be cut.

Slippers for everyone :)
As the nursery likes to be visitor friendly,
I thought it would be nice to have slippers available for guests.
A new book by Faye Durston for inspiration :)
Much needed supplies.
New paints for the company colours and my favourite paint brushes
Pretty coloured wires for bodies!!
Plastic baubles for a new project (it's still a secret)
More wooden boxes for the trinkets to be stored in.
I managed to buy the next size up as well for larger doors.
Floral foam for the teacups.
Lots of new yarns for faerie hair.
I managed to find the most interesting textures.
And finally but certainly not the least.....over 1000 flower heads!
While in the hotel room I was able to separate most of them into their own little baggies
but as I continued shopping I finally ran out of time.
The next few nights will see me getting these flowers ready to be sorted.
