The Garden Party

My little Faerie Nursery was fortunate enough to be invited to our first garden party earlier this month on Sunday, June 2, 2013.

So we packed up the Honda Fit with luggage, us, Ciaran and Fionn (the woof woofs) and the nursery! Well as much of the nursery as I could fit into 3 rubber maids and 1 large box!!

Leaving Fort Smith we drove to High Level to spend the evening...(about an 6 hour drive). The next day we were off to Grande Prairie (about another 6 hour drive) where we stayed for the next couple of nights. The Garden Party was held in Beaverlodge about 1/2 an hour outside of Grande Prairie.

And here was our table all set up. We enjoyed the sunshine for about 3 hours and then the skies opened up. It was a wonderful learning experience...as we now know....faeries really do fly when there is even just a wisp of a wind and they DO NOT like being caught out in the rain!

The New Digs and the Watchers!

I was fortunate enough to get a hand-me-down wooden cabinet. Now as my little nursery is already full to the brim with...well...shelving units (7 of those), tables (4 of those), chairs (3 of those), little drawer cabinets (8 of those), old microwave stand, computer tables/stands (2 of those), corner stand, behind the couch table that has drawers at the bottom, wooden night stand, rolling plastic tray shelving unit (two of those), shelving units hubby built...oh and almost forgot 2 hanging wooden cabinets. So...where on earth was I going to put this new cabinet?? And, what was I going to put in it.

Well with a bit of rearranging....I found the perfect spot for it. Right beside me now. Just to the right of me up against the slated wall hubby built.

And what do you think I found to put in it?? The Clay Potters!! Instead of them being in long skinny boxes with cut out flaps (everything has to be protected from Lady Isabella, the mean ole puddy tat!!) they now have a new home! They are all lined up with little name tags placed on the shelf so I know who is who. I even printed out each of their pictures with their full names written on them!

My only problem is...I feel soooo guilty! Sure, they are now not squished, all together, no worries about breakage, easy to get to...but but but....doesn't the picture look like they all belong to the movie I, Robot when they find Sonny in the warehouse?? All standing so neatly in a row!!

And the faeries have their own watchdogs...LITERALLY!!  Fionn and Ciaran watching over everyone.

You can see more of the pictures in their Facebook photo album.

Etsy Updates

Well for the month of October so far, I have posted 25 new faeries to Etsy.

I have updated my listing tabs on Etsy to now include all of the Holiday Specials under their own categories of: Holiday Faeries, Holiday Nurseries and Holiday Suites.

I have revamped all of the listing for the Limited Edition Faerie Suite by removing the choice of faerie to just a single faerie whose story matches the theme. I am very happy with how everything turned out. Mind you, I now do have 7 listings for faeries that have either wine, martini's or cigars for their themes? Wondering if that is a good thing or not?

I have 11 Christmas faeries that will be divided up between the Suites, Nurseries and just Faeries.
There are 4 New Year's Eve faeries that will be listed as individuals, each coming with a glass of champagne. I need to decide what to do with the actual Suite Faeries as right now they are listed as a group on Etsy. After that, it leaves me 21 faeries that still need to be listed and only 125 more to make :)

I had lots of help tonight as well with Fionn and Ciaran just hoping that even just one wee little faerie would fall off of my desk while I was trying to organize things.

While having to put EVERYTHING away as my cat Isabella has full roam of my nursery/workshop, I have managed to organize all of my faeries into new containers. I will try my best to get these posted within the next few days.

And on that note, I am off to bed!!

Success!!

The guardians at the faerie nursery today were out and about in the woods today.
Not only was it a wonderful, sunny spring day but we found faerie pods!!
Some were pretty disguised in with the local flora and fauna but when you
know what you are looking they seem a bit easier to find.
After an hour or so we were able to bring back to nursery about 20 seed pods.
We will let these pods dry out so the wee little faerie babies have nice new beds.

We even had help from Fionn (Jack Russell) and Ciaran, both being very helpful on the hunt.
