The New Digs and the Watchers!

I was fortunate enough to get a hand-me-down wooden cabinet. Now as my little nursery is already full to the brim with...well...shelving units (7 of those), tables (4 of those), chairs (3 of those), little drawer cabinets (8 of those), old microwave stand, computer tables/stands (2 of those), corner stand, behind the couch table that has drawers at the bottom, wooden night stand, rolling plastic tray shelving unit (two of those), shelving units hubby built...oh and almost forgot 2 hanging wooden cabinets. So...where on earth was I going to put this new cabinet?? And, what was I going to put in it.

Well with a bit of rearranging....I found the perfect spot for it. Right beside me now. Just to the right of me up against the slated wall hubby built.

And what do you think I found to put in it?? The Clay Potters!! Instead of them being in long skinny boxes with cut out flaps (everything has to be protected from Lady Isabella, the mean ole puddy tat!!) they now have a new home! They are all lined up with little name tags placed on the shelf so I know who is who. I even printed out each of their pictures with their full names written on them!

My only problem is...I feel soooo guilty! Sure, they are now not squished, all together, no worries about breakage, easy to get to...but but but....doesn't the picture look like they all belong to the movie I, Robot when they find Sonny in the warehouse?? All standing so neatly in a row!!

And the faeries have their own watchdogs...LITERALLY!!  Fionn and Ciaran watching over everyone.

You can see more of the pictures in their Facebook photo album.

Secret Project??

It seems that while I was out of the nursery the Faeries started a project all on their own. As I am only hearing snippets here and there, I can't say for sure I know exactly what they are up to...but I did manage to snap a few photos!

I have been finding little piles of 'stuff' tucked into baskets and hiding behind boxes and containers? It certainly is quite the collection that they have been gathering.

And are those sparkles in those bottles?? Where on earth did they find those? And I'm thinking that someone must have snuck up and raided my pantry for the food colouring bottles... they are pretty colours though :)

A basket of the pretties blue marbles I have ever seen. Sure hope they didn't drop any as I don't want anyone stepping on one and falling! Best I check the floor VERY carefully.

What on earth are they doing? What an eclectic collection this is...what all is in there...a stamp, beads, buttons, coins, ribbons, feathers, sequins, string...and is that a bread bag clip?? What???

Parcels :)

More flower petals have arrived and are being put away this evening. Lots of large gerber daisies, some hot pink pom poms, tiny little roses in peaches and yellows and a garland of purple flowers with lots of green leaves.

We were also blessed to have another 'care' package arrive all the way from San Francisco -- thank you so much Sharin :)  There is always a great big hype when one of her parcels arrive. We all gather around the table (and those that can't make it are right with us thank you to Skype) as we gently open the box up. This parcel contained more of our wonderful iridescent flower petals...but these ones are tiny so they will be placed on top to glitter and shine for all to see. More of the most vibrant and brilliant coloured magenta flowers. A whole box (yes, a whole box) of the prettiest and the sparkliest pipe cleaners I have ever seen! (and might I add, the faeries in the nursery sure have noted them too as we all know how much they love shiny things).  Fabric swatches galore, more inspiration to start experimenting. Yards and yards of fantastic blue ribbon. Wonderful white tatted lace that will make beautiful skirts (thank goodness there is enough to go around as I am sure I will have to keep these tucked away so they don't go 'accidentally' missing and I end up finding them hidden throughout the nursery). The strangest metallic blue 'stuff'. I really don't know what it is...it reminds me of an SOS pad but it's blue and soft and gorgeous. I'm thinking it will look great in the new hairdo's the faeries have been sporting of late. Also tucked in the bottom were lots of Fimo flowers and goodies (too many to list). Again, a massive thank you and a big hug from all of us here at the faerie nursery to Sharin. We all wish she lived a might bit closer so she could come and play in the nursery as well.
