Welcome to the nursery..... www.faerienursery.com

The New Digs and the Watchers!
I was fortunate enough to get a hand-me-down wooden cabinet. Now as my little nursery is already full to the brim with...well...shelving units (7 of those), tables (4 of those), chairs (3 of those), little drawer cabinets (8 of those), old microwave stand, computer tables/stands (2 of those), corner stand, behind the couch table that has drawers at the bottom, wooden night stand, rolling plastic tray shelving unit (two of those), shelving units hubby built...oh and almost forgot 2 hanging wooden cabinets. So...where on earth was I going to put this new cabinet?? And, what was I going to put in it.
Well with a bit of rearranging....I found the perfect spot for it. Right beside me now. Just to the right of me up against the slated wall hubby built.
And what do you think I found to put in it?? The Clay Potters!! Instead of them being in long skinny boxes with cut out flaps (everything has to be protected from Lady Isabella, the mean ole puddy tat!!) they now have a new home! They are all lined up with little name tags placed on the shelf so I know who is who. I even printed out each of their pictures with their full names written on them!
My only problem is...I feel soooo guilty! Sure, they are now not squished, all together, no worries about breakage, easy to get to...but but but....doesn't the picture look like they all belong to the movie I, Robot when they find Sonny in the warehouse?? All standing so neatly in a row!!
You can see more of the pictures in their Facebook photo album.

Out in the Sunshine
It seems that the Clay Potter Faeries have decided that they have been cooped up too long indoors. Even though it is still very cold and the air is crisp, the sun was out and shining so I decided to leave the door ajar just a bit to see who wanted to venture outside.
The first one I seen fly out was Nettle, she was all excited to sit in the tree branches. And what a great spot she found too...right beside the large bird feeder. I don't think she really thought that idea through all the way as I found her having to bat away some of our more aggressive Boreal Chickadees more than once, mind you she was sitting awfully close to them. I am sure she will have tons of stories to tell the faeries during afternoon tea.
Joining her in the sunshine today were Benny, Grace, Jinx, Tilly and Ivy. I think they all had a great time. When I last checked on them though, they were all huddled in by the wood burning stove trying to warm up. I think that I will leave out a few extra cookies and make sure that the tea pot is full all the way to the brim so they can tell the other Clay Potters all about their time out in the sunshine.

They were left alone....
Yes, I will take full blame for this one as I had to leave the nursery for a few days. But but but, in my own defence...I did make sure that Sapphire the Pixie lock the faerie dust cabinet so I knew that wouldn't be a problem....I asked Faerie Mia to look after all of the flower petals.....I asked Fae Bella to look after the beads....and I asked Pixie Jinx to look after the paint. I figured I had pretty well everything covered. NOPE! I had forgotten about the yarn buckets! At least they kept the mess centralized except for the odd ball or two that managed to roll off of the table. And yes, if you look close enough...that is me, Faerie Amma right in the middle!!

The Props
Today was spent rummaging around my faerie nursery in order to find things to put into The Clay Potters nursery. With all of the miniatures I have this was actually quite an easy and fun task.
As I mentioned on my first set of photos of me, Faerie Amma, that I loved my ladybug print but figured it was just way tooooo busy for a backdrop. So off I went to the internet to try to find miniature frames. I managed to find some really fantastic ways to make your own frame. I am extremely pleased in my final result and what a perfect addition to the miniature nursery.

And flowers! These little vases are actually drawer pulls!!
All I had to do was sand down the bottoms so they could stand up. How simple.
And shelving units. I found this idea as well.
All it is, is wooden skewers put through wooden buttons and pony beads. Again, how simple.
These little vases I had just sitting in a baggie buried deep in a box of knick knacks
and yet they are the just the right size.
Entry way goodies or I guess for if it ever happens to rain in the nursery (I sure hope not!)
As the nursery is situated in the north, here are some of the veggies and fruits that can
be grown up here in our short summers. I also found some great gardening tools as well.
A few extra things...not sure if I will use them but going to put
them into the nursery prop box just in case.
Now these are actually props for the boys....new swords and spears.
Not sure if they are going to be painted or not.
