Making the Rounds

the rearview mirror effect!

in amongst a group of people have you ever found yourself in the queue for the next yawn no matter how hard you try not to catch it but it still happens. and just as fast as it came to you, off it goes to the next unwittingly person.

did you know though that a large crowd is not necessary and in fact it can take only the two of you? this contagion can begin by just looking into a mirror but not necessarily with an ordinary mirror but in fact, with a vehicles rearview mirror.

under legislation it is illegal to drive when distracted. and under this classification the use of smartphones certainly falls into it, but then again, so does singing along to a tune that you are listening to on the radio.

when asking where does a yawn fit into this law, well all it takes is someone in the backseat to yawn and you as the driver just happens to glance back and voila it's now yours for the taking. thank goodness though that this action is repeatable and you can pass it right back again but then the bad part of it all is that is comes right back to you and now the loop has begun.

where'd the balloon go?

the celebration is over
(well for Faeries, is it really ever over?)

faces are no longer yellow
(but i'm sure that won't last too long)

someone has gone and weeded the garden
(how dare they)

tree trunks are still being used for chairs
(as everything is still way too dizzy and i hear
that dance classes will begin immediately)

bandaids and ice cubes are running out of supply
(should of known that when playing with
the neighbourhood stingers
pricklilies are bound to find little Faerie bums)

the pretty ribbons are still being found in the weirdest of places but not necessarily in braided Faerie hair but instead they seem to be twisted and intertwined around thorny roses bushes
(do you know how hard it is to untie a ribbon
from a rose bush? i have heard that
more bandaids just might be in order)

singing, yes, singing, yes indeed, singing....
enough said about that
(hmmmmmm, yes, enough said about that)

i'm figuring that the frolicking and chatting away while playing in the mud needs to quiet down a bit as it just might help the Faeries and their friends to stay focused and to help their silly pom poms attached to their acorn hats from fallen off
(this activity needs to be readdressed to include water bottles, snacks and plump cushions
to relax on along the way)

and lastly but not to be forgotten, what exactly was happening with those socks and shoes?
(that's all i need to know, how can socks be taken off all the while their shoes are still on?)

i can't even imagine what games and shenanigans the Faeries have in store for next year

but i'm hoping that the little girl that lives so close to the garden doesn't go ahead and pick the daisies as then i will need to find another hiding place

thank you for the fun and the giggles
and tons of things to whisper

oh, and wasn't there something about a balloon?

Oh no! How could I forget? It's just a few hours away.

on the eve of International Faerie Day the nursery seems to be in such a kerfuffle, in such a commotion, in such a bustle, in such a flurry that one can really make no sense of it at all, mind you we are dealing with faeries so who knows

i'm not too sure about you...

but know and not knowing what is going on certainly leaves ones imagination to run wild

Introduction of a Lost Clay Potter??

Well it seems that there is an never ending surprises that happen here at the nursery.

Over the weekend there was a wee knock on the door.  Now if this was summer time or even very late spring this would not have been something that doesn't happen on a regular basis...but with it now being nippy outside with even snowflakes falling gracefully from the sky I was actually quite concerned and questioned who on earth could be outside on this wintery day??

Wow! I couldn't believe my eyes...there was a Faerie standing there just a shivering away. I asked her right away to come in to warm up by the pellet stove and then I ran off to make a pot of sweet tea for her.

After she was settled in and rocking away on one of the comfy chairs she began to tell her story all the while emptying her bag of the many treasures that she had collected on her way.

Here she was a Clay Potter that had been swooped up by a westwardly wind and she couldn't find her way back. Thankfully she found a yellow breasted grosbeak that new the way to the nursery...and now here she is!

As I hadn't even known that there were any more Clay Potters out there she definitely was a beautiful surprise and a wonderful addition to the group.

Once she was all able to get up and bit more back to normal she asked if she could introduce herself to the others. I wasn't too sure what she had in mind but I told her I would do anything to help her out.

Then she ran off with Faerie Bosh to help her in the kitchen. Hmmm what was she up to?

So here is here introduction....please meet Faerie Edie...

Here is a close up of Faerie Edie

What a stunning dress!

And with Faerie Bosh's help...she offered every one a bit of  yummy strawberry shortcake  and a cup of  sweet tea? She then started to sing away with a most beautiful voice that I have ever heard.
