Into the KNOWN Wild Blue Yonder

Do you ever get the feeling that you that you have to do something in order to do what you need to do?

I have sat here for almost 3 weeks looking at my work table that is still scattered with stuff that I have either never bother to unpack, display or just plain and simple put away!

But that isn't even the worst of it yet!!

I know that once I clear and clean off my massive 1.2m x 1.2m (4'x4' ) table that I really will have to not only do something productive with both my time and energy but that I will have/need to start getting creating again.

Now, please do not get me wrong by any means!!

I love being creative. It's in my bones. It's in my head. It's in my heart. The difference here is that in essence I have/need to be creative.

Now, please do not get me wrong by any means!!

This next Line of Faeries truly inspires me. Excites me. Is part of me. I have purchased absolutely everything that I require/need to make/create these Faeries. Everything is separated into their own pretty coloured cloth boxes and rubbermaids just waiting for me. Calling to me. Even whispering to me.

Now, please do not get me wrong by any means!!

I so really want to get these Faeries done by the holiday gift giving and craft shows. I think though that I have missed my international shipping time for any of my Faerie creations in order to reach their destination in time to be wrapped and opened. This is such a massive hurt/blow to me as I was really counting on, well let's face it...for more sales.

Now, please do not get me wrong by any means!!

Since I have shut down my Facebook page I know that I have missed out on the largest looking/shopping opportunity. Promoting my website, blog and even my e-commerce pages is way harder than I had expected. Well, actually I know that I was throwing myself under the bus but I needed to take a break.

Now, please do not get me wrong any means!!

I have tried relentlessly to promote my wee company. To get seen. to not fall behind on what I need to do. I do know however that I made these massive changes and transformations since I knew that I would be away from the nursery for almost three and half weeks. Trying to keep up remotely would have both been way too time consuming and well, let's face it....not the type of vacation that I truly needed.

Now, please do not get me wrong by any means!!

I didn't want to be away from the nursery. I needed to be away mentally and physically. Anyone of you that run a small home based business knows that it takes about 7-10 hours a day. Yes, this is way longer than a full time job. These are the sacrifices that need to be done. This in itself takes everything that you have. Everything that you want to do outside of the business. Everything that you want to do socially un-business related. Everything that you call a personal life. These all get interrupted and/or cut short.

Now, please do not get me wrong by any means!!

Since leaving work (and not by choice), loosing your independence (I am no longer cleared to fly or to drive a vehicle), to being in the house all day with only three critters to keep you company and well, to talk to. When I was a Mom at home with two children this scenario was quite different. Yes, I was still home alone (technically), I did have the ability to fly and drive (but I'll admit somedays just wasn't worth the effort) and when I was talking essentially at least I was teaching (hoping) to teach my children a few life experiences.

Now, please do not get me wrong any means!!

I do promise myself (and you) that the cleaning of my table will start. My head has rested. My body has rested. My heart has rested. Everything else can be called my creativeness and it too have been rested. It is time for me to become Faerie Amma once again.

The Goodies

I will be attending my very first Fort Smith Trade Show as an actual vendor and not a shopper this weekend.

The Government of the Northwest Territories - Industry, Tourism & Investment (GNWT - ITI) department kindly nominated my little faerie nursery as a potential crafter to be sponsored for a booth. At first, I was all woo hoo and I can't wait but I will be honest...I had NO clue how much work has had to go into Saturday's event.

My massive shopping spree from VistaPrint will certainly come in handy from the 6' banners all way down to all of my printed materials including sticky notes, magnets, rack cards, tri-fold brochures and business cards.

This will be the first time that I get to use my tablecloth that I had specially printed with my company colours and logo.

All of the new products lines will be making their debut ~ jewelry, Bubble Faeries and the Northern Faeries - Midnight Sun and Aurora. I will be bringing along samples of my little Faeries, Princes, Seed Pod Babies, Teacup Nurseries, Wooden Doors and the Trinket Chests.

So far....without adding any product yet...I am up to 4 rubber maids...oh and I will have to carry in the banners and their stands as well...oh and there are also two wooden shelving units that I am bringing along. Still hoping that they will be able to find an extra table so that the ladies have somewhere to do their sparkle tattoos from!!

I worked hand-in-hand with my daughter to come up with a gift basket to give away. We decided to title it The Flower Basket. It is plum full of faerie stuff and flower scented Avon goodies. This basket is also featuring a Bubble Faerie, hence the bubble bath :)

And yes, the ladies and I will be in full make-up and I have arranged to have a photographer available to a photo op!!

If you happen to live in the area, please stop by the booth to say 'hi' and introduce yourself.

Teacups!

Over the past couple of weeks, I have managed to get out of the north for one reason or another. During these two quick visits back to civilization I came across two amazing finds for the nursery.

We all know the size of a regular porcelain china teacup with the average height being around 3" to 3.5" tall depending on the manufacturer. Well that being said, I was able to purchase 8 more teacups which made me extremely happy.

On that note....while out and about....my husband while snooping around in the stores for me, came across what I thought were the most adorable 'little' teacups I had ever seen!! These little beauties are only 2" tall!! Can you believe that? I have never seen anything like it. So yes, even though they did cost a bit more, how could I refuse? Yeah....of course, I couldn't and didn't.

On this trip out here again just wandering around little tiny shops, this time I was the one to find the treasures. Sitting in the back of a glass cabinet were 4 more 'little' teacups. Okay, so I know...that doesn't sound like anything new!! But, I shall re-phase that last statement....there were 4 'wee little' teacups to be found. Now I know...money is the driving force here and I really have to be careful to not spend more on a product than what I will be able to sell it for, but really.....would you have been able to walk away from teacups that stand less than 1.5"?? Come on now, you can be truthful...of course not and again...either could I.

My only issue now is...I thought that I was going to have a hard time finding any little castles or trees or anything for that matter for the middle size...what on earth am I going to decorate the tiniest ones with??

Mail Day .... Limited Editions Goodies :)

Mail day today at the nursery....and what fun goodies I received :)

I have been busy trying to finish up my ordering products for this year and so what comes in the mail is either last little bits that I need to finish off the trinkets chest (mainly due to being just the few items shy to complete all 80 of them).

I have also been having fun getting a few extra things for the 'Limited Editions' of the Faerie Suites. By the way... I LOVE that title. Don't ask me why I was awake at 4:00 a.m. the other morning but that is when the name came to me...and I LOVE IT! As each of these little doors truly are limited since I may never be able to get the products again. Guess that makes them pretty special too! Back on topic here, so...as I was saying, ordering just the miniatures that I think will fit with the themes I already have created on Etsy and on the website.

For example....

The Teacher, I love the little stems on the apples :)

The Connoisseur, empty wine glasses and filled glasses of champagne :)

And Coffee Time! You will have your choice of glazed, glazed with sprinkles or an old fashioned.
