Precious Teacup Nurseries

While trying to keep organized (might I add....it isn't working!!) at getting ready for 2 more craft fairs and removing all of my holiday items from Etsy....I am coming across beautiful creations that need a bit of attention prior to being sent off to a craft fair and never shared.

This Buttercup and her Teacup Nursery. She we be displayed at the upcoming Fort Smith fair that is being held this weekend. I think she is just beautiful.

And this is Ophelia and her Teacup Nursery.

Teacups!

Over the past couple of weeks, I have managed to get out of the north for one reason or another. During these two quick visits back to civilization I came across two amazing finds for the nursery.

We all know the size of a regular porcelain china teacup with the average height being around 3" to 3.5" tall depending on the manufacturer. Well that being said, I was able to purchase 8 more teacups which made me extremely happy.

On that note....while out and about....my husband while snooping around in the stores for me, came across what I thought were the most adorable 'little' teacups I had ever seen!! These little beauties are only 2" tall!! Can you believe that? I have never seen anything like it. So yes, even though they did cost a bit more, how could I refuse? Yeah....of course, I couldn't and didn't.

On this trip out here again just wandering around little tiny shops, this time I was the one to find the treasures. Sitting in the back of a glass cabinet were 4 more 'little' teacups. Okay, so I know...that doesn't sound like anything new!! But, I shall re-phase that last statement....there were 4 'wee little' teacups to be found. Now I know...money is the driving force here and I really have to be careful to not spend more on a product than what I will be able to sell it for, but really.....would you have been able to walk away from teacups that stand less than 1.5"?? Come on now, you can be truthful...of course not and again...either could I.

My only issue now is...I thought that I was going to have a hard time finding any little castles or trees or anything for that matter for the middle size...what on earth am I going to decorate the tiniest ones with??

Where has the time gone?

It seems like forever since I have sat down to write a new blog posting!!

I have now posted all of my products on Etsy. Wow, what an ordeal that has been. Between deciding how to do the photos, to pricing, to shipping, to descriptions, to, to, to, to.....it never seemed like it would end.

But success :)  Everything is posted, well everything that I have made in stock is posted. Figured if I put everything up, it would give me that inspirational boost to get my butt in gear to get more made.

Before I forget, a massive THANK YOU shout goes out to me Mom and my sister Deb for getting me all of the teacups they have so far. Sometimes living in a remote area has its downfalls and unfortunately, shopping is a major one!

Alyssa has submitted the ad campaign to the 'Faerie Magazine' for it's fall printing. I am so proud of the work she has done :) Once the magazine is out, I will scan a shot of the page and post here for you to see.

New product and inventory are arriving daily. My poor husband thinks that Canada Post has even forgotten what his name is....well except he does get the bills in the mail, so technically he is still receiving mail :) Thank goodness he is a good sport about it all and not only does he carry everything in the house for me, but he helps me open it too!!

My display units have also been arriving in the mail. I now has 5 glass pedestals containers to show off the Teacup Nurseries. I can't wait to get these assembled as I will have two of them here in town and the other three will be scattered across Alberta.

The new rubber stamps with the logo look fantastic. Just waiting now for the branding iron so we can burn the logo onto the backs of the wooden doors and the bottom of the trinket chests.

Again....thank you to Alyssa for taking a concept and turning it into my logo.

A Sneak Preview

As I have mentioned before, my teacup nurseries are coming along quite well. I am very happy with them and enjoying experimenting with all of the new and interesting shapes.

Each teacup nursery will come of course with a flower petal faerie. I have decided to make each of these faeries match the colours of the teacups. Thought that it would be quite complementary and tie in nicely.

As my graphic designer is waiting NOT so patiently for the photos of the teacup nurseries for the magazine ad, I figured it was about time I actually get some faeries made.

Here is a sneak peak at what I managed to do this evening. Now just remember, this is only a peak!

And yes, the faeries are tipped upside down drying in their respective teacups :)

Parcels from Afar

It was a wonderful week for my Teacup Nurseries in the mail

Today, I received a 'care package' from my Mom :)  You know the day is always going to full of sunshine and smiles when there is mail from Mom!!

In my care package today, she sent me 9 beautiful china teacups. Stuffed all around those teacups are flower petals galore and more wonder yarn to for hair for the petal faeries.

Also arriving this week were more little houses, wee little flowers on wires, porcelain turtles, tiny bits of abalone, miniature rocks and the tiniest little fall leaves I have ever seen.

I can't wait to start getting these put together. I have come up with the best way to ship them as well.

Each individual Teacup Nursery sold will come with it's own matching petal faerie to the teacup. As well, you will get to create and decorate your own nursery. All the products will come in wee little plastic baggies so you can make it yourself. I will supply you a teacup with the floral foam already cut (once I perfect trying to judge how to cut it to fit!) and all the little goodies it will take to decorate it. As I am still collecting items I don't want to list them just yet, but soon :)
