Having to Say 'Goodbye'

So, okay....I get the whole big picture thing, really I do. I understand that I make Flower Petals Faeries and that these said Flower Petal Faeries are for sale. I get it!!

But, this past week I made my first sale to someone that I didn't know, or wasn't a friend of a friend, or a family member or or or....this sale was to a complete stranger.

Which remember, I get it. I make Flower Petal Faeries and that they are for sale.

I have a website, Etsy, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Pinterest and this blog.....all advertising that I make Flower Petal Faeries and that they are for sale.

So my reading audience....tell me this....why did I go through 3 days of anxiety, withdrawal symptoms and separation issues for 2 wee little faeries that I had to loving fill out their guardianship papers, gently place them on top of the crinkled paper and slowly, ever so slowly close the lid. Then I bawled!

All of the those bad 'what if' questions just started to pour into my head and there was NO stopping them. What if they had a cat that would be allowed to paw at them, knock them over and go hide them under a bed somewhere? What if they had a dog that just ate them? What if they had put them away on the back end of a shelf just to collect dust? What if they didn't like them and they just tossed them into the garbage? What if? What if? What if? What if?

After holding my breath for long enough....off I went on Tuesday morning and said my final farewells through a packing box and then into their individual boxes. So long Faerie Jewel. So long Faerie Goldie. I love you with everything that I am. I will miss you. Please take care. Please know that all of the other little Faeries in the nursery will miss you.

Good bye.

The In-between List of Things To Do!!

Flower Petal Faeries.....I need to make, lets see....minus the ones that I already listed on Etsy and the few I have sitting here waiting to be named...that leaves me....a mere 237 left to make!!

Teacup Nurseries....there are about 15 that need to be made with their matching faeries. As well, Alyssa is working on the 'how to' instructions for those that are sold as DIY kits.

Faerie Seed Pod Babies....with all of the wonderful new coloured rose flower heads that came in the mail a week or so ago....need to get making a few of those as well.

What else could there be....

What?? Isn't that enough to do?? I'm sure lots of little things will sneak up on me that I will be saying, Oh Yeah, I have to do that too!!

Thank You Shawn :)

And the website is now LIVE

Faerie Nursery

Shawn has managed to bring my website to life :)

We now have a story by Meagan about the history of the Enchanted Pathways Faerie Nursery; a biography of me by Chris; the contact page and and and....

All of the faeries that I currently have made are now listed.

You can find Flower Petal Faeries, Teacup Nurseries, The Faerie Suites and the Flower Seed Pod Babies. These all link back to my Etsy store front where they are available to be purchased.

Also, we have added in all of the Faeries that the visitors to the nursery have made, faeries that have flown the coop and gone off to new homes and adventures along with faeries that I have donated to local community events. These pictures all link back to Flickr where you can read more about them.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to Shawn for all of his dedication, hard work and the master of 'code'.

Teacup Nurseries

First things first...these photos are terrible! I promise to have better ones shortly. I decided to photograph these sets in this manner as I am purchasing those large glass domes for display cases. Thought it would give me a good idea of how they will look.

For the actual ad photo shoot these sets will be taken outside with trees and moss for a backdrop.

Again, I apologize for the quality but thought you might like to see them anyways.

The Teacup Nurseries will be sold in two different ways.

1. As is. When you purchase a Teacup Nursery and Flower Petal Faerie you will be purchasing what you see in the photograph.

2. DIY. This method will mean that you will receive a teacup with floral foam and a moss mat already attached. Everything else that you need to complete a miniature nursery will be included along with a check list of items included. There will be a step-by-step instruction sheet if you need it or for those that are a bit more adventurous you can place the items where you like. Again, each teacup will come with a matching Flower Petal Faerie that has been named and like the other faeries will have her own little story.

These Teacup Nurseries will be packed ever so gently, wrapped in my favourite lime green tissue paper. Each Flower Petal Faerie will be in her own box so she is not crushed while in transport. If you chose to purchase your nursery as a DIY version, all of the little items will be individually packaged for you.

A Sneak Preview

As I have mentioned before, my teacup nurseries are coming along quite well. I am very happy with them and enjoying experimenting with all of the new and interesting shapes.

Each teacup nursery will come of course with a flower petal faerie. I have decided to make each of these faeries match the colours of the teacups. Thought that it would be quite complementary and tie in nicely.

As my graphic designer is waiting NOT so patiently for the photos of the teacup nurseries for the magazine ad, I figured it was about time I actually get some faeries made.

Here is a sneak peak at what I managed to do this evening. Now just remember, this is only a peak!

And yes, the faeries are tipped upside down drying in their respective teacups :)

Twins!!

The nursery has been blessed with a set of twin petal faerie babies. There are now 12 extra little faeries that need to be taken care of by the Enchanted Pathways Faerie Nursery staff.

Sure hope the adoption papers get here soon so the little faeries can be placed into loving homes.

Meet Sharin - Mascot for Enchanted Pathways

This wee little faerie was given to me from a lady in San Francisco. She sent me a note that went something like this....

"is the little gal settled in with you? she lived with me for about 20 years.....when you connected with me the second time - she said she wanted to go to the Fort Smith Fairy Clan - and off she went!"

To have a stranger share such a precious gift shows me that people do believe. They believe not only in faeries but also in generosity, love and compassion. In return I have made a Petal Faerie for Sharin out of the flower petals I had purchased from her. I hope that my little faerie will bring her as much happiness as her faerie has brought me.

The last batch of the "Bottom's Up" faeries

Well these little faeries were full of whimsical colours both bold and pastels. And we discovered hair! To think that I have this full rubbermaid of yarn that I purchased just for hair....and I have never used any! Why do faeries have to be so plain...so human like? Well they don't and they certainly are NOT human. So here they are....in all of their splendour :)

The "Bottom's Up" Group

Well here are the first 7 of the 'Bottom's Up' group that I did yesterday. Today was completion time...heads, hair, hats and curling of arms and legs. I am loving all of the new colours and accessories I have been able to pick up over the last couple of months.
