Continuity using the 'White Theme'

So to start off the New Year... the Nursery has a NEW look for all of its printed materials.

I'm calling it 'The White Theme'!!

This new line covers two styles of business cards, thank you cards, disclaimer cards, gift cards, guardianship cards and magnets. All of which I did on a white backdrop and using the company's coloured flower icon. I opted to go with sizing down the letterhead design which I think worked really well to tie in the font colour and to add a bit of a garden theme since I took away the stump and rose vines (see Blog banner above). Oh, and there was a new one added in the mix this time around - the 'A Little Something Extra Just for You' card. As I always like to give little trinkets away with each sale, I thought that this card would do the job perfectly.

Since I changed over the website, Blog and all other social media sites last year (2017) to using a white background, finishing off this project completes the look of continuity throughout the company.

A massive thank you goes out to Sherry (Elite Business Services Ltd.) who created our updated QR code and again to VistaPrint who did an outstanding job again.

So, what do you think? Do you like the clean white look?

Dishwasher Bubbles

and here we go again.. (i'm starting to think that i just might be lost, as i could have sworn that this idea/thought has be done way toooooooo many times) ..

a new business name .. (on Facebook that is so it shows up in the search bar).

a new business name .. (here on Google that is .. thinking that i might try to see what i can do about the actual Google link for the company being changed .. any help would be appreciated .. as i'm one that can see exactly what it is that i need to do, and i'm the one that can exactly what not to do, and yes, the latter seems to be the on-going favourite).

a new feel (haven't figured out exactly what this means yet .. but it will come to me eventually).

a new look (same as above .. no wait .. that's not true).

a new ?? (face it .. there is always something new that one just can't think of when trying to think of something new).

disclaimer .. okay .. perhaps all of or any of the 'a new' stuff listed above might or might not happen as quickly as the pop of a soapy bubble .. but they will happen long before all of the dishes are done).

Finally..well kinda finally

I will admit that it has taken me almost 2 months (bad on me) to post the remaining 4 faeries from the Northern Line.

Now granted, I could make a thousand and one excuses...but technically...I really should have done this a wee bit a go but just haven't (bad on me again).

Right now they can be viewed on the website but they are not listed or linked to one of our e-commerce pages but hey, they are up for viewing.

Oooooohhhh but before I forget (and this one isn't a bad on me)....I have taken all NEW photos of The Northern Line Faeries....perhaps that is one of the reasons it has taken me this long for them to be  displayed.

Now, the next step...well, after I have these faeries listed/linked...next will come posting The Calendar Line.

You would think that with the craft fairs, the Christmas rush (guaranteed mailing dates) and well just most (some) of the general stuff being over for the year that I would be way more organized. But I am proud to admit...there are still 5 boxes that need to be dismantled from the craft fairs, all accounting (I haven't even found my sales book yet), posting of new faeries and the whole just keeping up with all of my sites (blog, website, e-commerce pages, Facebook etc.) I am pooped!

This is when I start to think that it is time that my wee faeries come out of hibernation and help me out...but everything that I have done so far has been unsuccessful. I have made tea (the really pretty pink coloured kind), sugar cookies (with extra icing), ringing sweet sounding jingle bells (even my ears are starting to pound), purposely leaving beads laying around the nursery (and yes, I have almost fallen on my keister once or twice), unlocking the cabinet that holds all of the wee jars of faerie dust (man, I know that I am just asking for trouble now)...and well....not too sure what there is left for me to do....any suggestions?

Well off I go to do something...not sure what this something will be...but I'm sure I will end up doing some of it anyways.

A Massive New Way of Blog Posting

Well, as the countdown continues to tick tock, tick tock away on the closing date (Friday, August 22, 2014 at exactly 9:48 p.m. Mountain Standard Time) of the company's Facebook page, I am busy scrambling to get all I need/want transferred over to this page and to the website.

But all the while working on this massive project I have come up with a completely new writing style! I know...as my writing style itself is an complete enigma that no one has ever seen or probably ever want to see again. But this is a totally new way of writing and now a totally new me!

Are you ready? Really, you need to be ready! I'm not joking here...you really do need to sit down, make yourself comfortable, perhaps grab a juice box and even a blankie if you feel the need for one...you never know...it could be a completely freezing day and one or more of you might need a blankie...and on those occasions please do make yourself a cup of tea..or even a cup of hot chocolate...you know the kind that has those wee marshmallows in it (you know the ones that are completely rock hard and so tiny that you can barely see them in the canister??)...sorry back onto the  topic...are you ready to see the NEW me...well not really a new me...how on earth could you ever replace me (okay...all of you hecklers in the back row...stop that nonsense now...you all know that I am completely irreplaceable and for only the good reasons too!!). Gesh (as references in the Urban Dictionary: as raw talent, those that are deemed (note a spelling error on the their insertion of this definition as it should of read deem and not deam) to have or hold the status of Gesh are ready for anything, primed to explode and never ever die)...another long ramble to just to say something so simple..

Now once you get through all of that mumbo jumbo....I have tried my best not to use the NEW writing style of the NEW me (please read the above definition in regards to the explanation of the word ME).

And here it is...***(please note the FOOTNOTE listed below)

I have decided to add a new '...' (meaning the phase of 'dot, dot, dot') (please note that there will be no ' ' following or after the '...' ) set of brackets (this style '('  along with the word  'insert' (note again, there will be no  ' '  in the actual new comment style) followed by an adjective or verb (this will completely be written as required) (granted that I really don't know the difference between the two) followed by a 'comment' (again, see the definition of   ' '  ) and then followed by the word 'here' (again please note the explanation of  '  ' in the aforementioned definition) (again...please read this whole paragraph so you know all of the words and punctuation definitions.. okay fine, I never did give you the definition of the word punctuation...so here it is...according to the Urban Dictionary...Punctuation is a key part of everyday writing. Often times punctuation is critically lacking online. Not to mention spelling.) (yes, I know I really don't know how to use such a thing as punctation as it would really cramp my writing style thingy especially online, perhaps even using this Blog and writeup as an example??) and then followed by this final bracket (this style ')'.

And well ummm...hmmm that was it ... (insert an OMG here) you made me read through all of that nonsense to just get to this ... (insert an I'm sorry comment here).

But hey...my whole vocabulary of how I write ... (insert a YAY! here) *(insert the FOOTNOTE listed below)...will be completely changed *(see the FOOTNOTE listed below)... I know it will ... (insert a I certainly hope so here).

Thanks for the visit *(see FOOTNOTE below) *(please note that this first set of '...' {please note the meaning of the '...' in one of the first paragraphs})  ... (insert a ** (please note the second FOOTNOTE listed below) smiley face here).

FOOTNOTES

* Please do not be confused when I write '...' (for the last time * (please note this actual * FOOTNOTE)...there will be no ' ' space before or after the '...' in these instances.

** Aren't you excited? *(please note the above FOOTNOTE) '... ' (please see the definition of ' ' the use of this type of punctuation) please see ** (please see the beginning of this actual idea of this whole excited blog posting ... (insert a ? {poorly use of a punctuation}and a ! {again poorly use of a punctuation) here).

***Please note the lack of explanations of the first few paragraphs of grammar (please note the correct way of spelling grammar compared to the spelling of gammer written in the Urban Dictionary) and punctuation (please see the definition of punctuation in the above FOOTNOTE designation as **) as I am trying to show you the new style of writing compared the current/old style of writing.

The Ad, The Look, The Feel...The New

So....this is the ad that I submitted to Kim at the Faerie Magazine. She is the one that I originally wanted to advertise with but everything went haywire last year with her company after the sad passing of her mother. I have decided to spend my remaining advertising budget dollars with her in the hopes that she can get out a quality product. As this IS my target audience in the end I decided it is where I needed to be. I did look into advertising on-line with various newspapers across Alberta and BC but nothing just seemed to be working right. As well, I did look into advertising with a Canadian garden magazine but unfortunately they were all way out of my league as far as budgets go (1/8 b&w page ran over $5000.00!!!).

I guess, I am asking everyone for their thoughts and opinions on the new look but in the end...the ad is already sent and the deadline has come and gone so I will be unable to make any further changes. I did make an arrangement with Kim for my second ad to be 50% off so if through suggestions, I can certainly change the look or feel come the next time around. The previous ad that Alyssa made for me was fantastic and showed everything that I made at the time which is how I needed people to know that I my company was out there. This new ad is more sleek, clean and hopefully mysterious enough that people will either scan the QR code or look up the website address due to the vagueness of the whole thing.

Under the suggestions of all of us, Larry, Matthew and Brandi the stump island photo was developed (well, Matthew disagreed with the whole stump idea as he noted that I am not in the business of selling stumps...I commented back with...well not yet!!). The look we were hoping to achieve was one that showed a faerie door and perhaps if you looked you might be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a faerie in amongst the flowers and grasses. I think Schonee did an amazing job of capturing a mystical playground for the faeries.

With the company ever evolving and changing, this ad will allow me to add and subtract products without changing the look and feel of the new backgrounds. The stump island photo is now on every banner for all 6 of my e-commerce sites as well as the website, Facebook and my blog page. All printed material is in the process of being changed over as well. We stayed with the original company colours of eggplant purple and green which means none of my packaging products will need to be changed which helped with expenses.

Thanks for reading and please respond if you have any suggestions...

Rolling Up the Carpet

As another holiday season shortly arrives, I must say that I have had a wonderfully success month for sales (insert....MASSIVE hug to all my followers).

This will be the last day that my 2012 Holiday Collection will be available on my website and on Etsy.
I wished I could keep them up longer but due to possible shipping delays, I would be more disappointed if my little creations didn't make it to their new homes in time.

I have one last craft fair to attend here in town and right now I am busy decorating my first entry for the Festival of Trees (photo will be posted soon).

I will be splitting up the last of my holiday faeries between this craft fair and the one that my daughter has a table at next weekend. Pretty exciting to know that my faeries will be displayed in Calgary, AB.

Over the next month I will be just as busy with the new line of stand-up faeries along with my current selections.

I have already decided on what I will be making for my next free draw that will be held the first week of January....just in time for Valentine's Day (oops, did I just give a hint away??).

Again, thank you for your support of the Enchanted Pathways Faerie Nursery :)

What is that...a new title tab on the blog??

I am asking anyone that has either visited the Nursery or maybe purchased or had a Faerie given to them, to just jot down a word or two (or even more if you wish) about your experience.

This can be pretty well anything....from if the slippers didn't fit, not enough selection of flower petals, if your packaging wasn't up to snuff in regards to handling through Canada Post....to maybe even something a little more on the positive side :)

Please know that I will read every entry and hopefully learn along the way on what type of Faerie product you would like to have made here at the Nursery.

I will say 'thank you' now and hope to see each and every one of you back again soon.

Time for Expansion

Over the past few days the workshop has taken on some major transformations. The workshop has a new table, shelving units, a full wall and 7 hanging rods. It has been a lot of work with a lot of sorting out of little bags that I seems to have stuffed into every nook and cranny. Thankfully there is lots of hanging room and most of these 'lost' treasures are now out in the open and ready to be used.

I have placed another order for flower petals of the 'jewel' tone hues. They seem to be my favourite lately and it is fun playing with such an abundance of rainbow colours.

The new business cards, return address labels and stickers came in, along with the 4x4x4 corrugated cardboard shipping boxes (to keep the wee faeries safe while traveling).

The website is coming along wonderfully. My developer has worked in conjunction with my banner designer to come up with a superb looking site. There will be a Google map that will show all of the new homes my faeries travel to. The Flickr site is now up and running and each faerie has been named and has a little write up about her as well. The website will have two Flickr galleries attached to it.

I am hoping that my writer will have a draft ready by the end of the week detailing the story of the company. I am so excited and I can't wait to see it in print.

The Esty page is ready to have faeries added it to. I have worked out all of the shipping details and prices. I hope to have the site ready to open this week.

I have been updated Facebook (which automatically Tweets) little snippets of what I have been up to. This blog will be the space that completes the picture with all sites linking one another.

I am hoping to have my web designer update this blog as well with the new colour scheme, banner and logos :)

I have 18 new little faeries that are waiting so patiently to have magic faerie dust sprinkled on them so they can be adopted into new homes. This is when the creativity and fun begins.

New Look

After many attempts and MANY changes...the new business cards, return address labels and round stickies have been ordered.

Managed to keep my original font...well cause...it's ME!

Kept the eggplant purple...well cause...it was the first colour I had thought of when I envisioned Enchanted Pathways. Which really is quite odd as I have never growing up liked that colour or any shade of purple for that matter.

Business cards are represented with abstract flowers and petals...which I thought was appropriate.

Back of business cards has all the different ways I can be contacted which include email; Facebook; website (under construction); blog (here); Twitter and Etsy (store front under construction).

That only took me like 3 weeks to decide on.

Think it's time to go and play with petal faeries now :)
