Continuity using the 'White Theme'

So to start off the New Year... the Nursery has a NEW look for all of its printed materials.

I'm calling it 'The White Theme'!!

This new line covers two styles of business cards, thank you cards, disclaimer cards, gift cards, guardianship cards and magnets. All of which I did on a white backdrop and using the company's coloured flower icon. I opted to go with sizing down the letterhead design which I think worked really well to tie in the font colour and to add a bit of a garden theme since I took away the stump and rose vines (see Blog banner above). Oh, and there was a new one added in the mix this time around - the 'A Little Something Extra Just for You' card. As I always like to give little trinkets away with each sale, I thought that this card would do the job perfectly.

Since I changed over the website, Blog and all other social media sites last year (2017) to using a white background, finishing off this project completes the look of continuity throughout the company.

A massive thank you goes out to Sherry (Elite Business Services Ltd.) who created our updated QR code and again to VistaPrint who did an outstanding job again.

So, what do you think? Do you like the clean white look?

Catching an Icy Toe

As all of our Northern Faeries are in their own way very special...some are very colourful, some stem from stories told of yesterdays years, some are traditions, some can be seen just out the window, and some represent the environment, land and waters of the North.

It is here where one of our elusive Faeries actually lives...

Where the most unimaginable world resides.... Where waves tips are frozen instantly.... Where just a single ray sunshine travels farther than the eye can see....Where aliens wander in all sizes and colours...Where the largest of mammals hunt undisturbed....Where the environment is encroaching in their space....Where a delicate ecological system can not be recreated...Where only the brave dare to visit...This is where Mistress Sanna calls home. And every so often she comes onto the snowy land where her tail mysteriously transforms. And if your eyes can see through the blinding white shield that is created by the blowing wind you might catch a glimpse of her across the ice. And on the rarest of chances that she might be the one to see that just as you are curious to she what blurry shape you thought was only a dream...she too, will come to the very edge of the iceberg to see what the blurry shape see seen and if it too was a mirage...It is at this time, but you must be quick....that you can take ahold of her hand and bring her back to land. Once she is warmed by the lit fire in the nursery, she will warm and start to question all that lays before her. She now waits with the sound of a ticking clock beating in mind...what other adventures wait for her. She is now ready for her next journey, perhaps one to your house....but be it known that if left out too long she will secretly sip back to her home...the Arctic Ocean.

Stay tuned as the nursery has received a wee note wrapped out of a diary from a Mistress Sanna who has begun her own new journey above the ocean.

The Candy Cane

Well, this week certainly has been a busy one here at the nursery. A new Faerie has arrived and with the cold winds of winter she brings a bit of warmth and a whole lot of mischief!

Introducing Holiday Edition 2014 - Candy Cane

I certainly do love the photo of her from up above as she looks just like one of the Christmas candies that are red and white striped!

Now, I haven't had time to take her professional shots yet, but who could resist just showing a few Instagram photos that have already been posted.

Don't you think she looks just like a candy or maybe even a red glitter poinsettia?

p.s. Please remember that she is a VERY Limited Edition with only 10 available for this season.

An Unexpected Gift...

I have never used this blog to really showcase other people's work but today, I need to share with you something that I purchased from across the pond...  I will just copy exactly what I shared on both my business and personal page on Facebook as a tribute to the creator.

"Well you know when you purchase something and you just know that it is going to be perfect and be everything that you ever want it to be?

I can say that today, I am more than overjoyed at my latest gift to me from my faerie nursery...well okay, I purchased it to use in my faerie nursery...and NO, the faeries are NOT going to get their wee hands on it! For how much I just love their little drawings...no, no, no, no, no!

I had seen this ladies work and just instantly fell in love with the creativity, flair and beauty. Just by looking at her finished pieces you could see the pride she takes in her work. Now I have heard a little bit about the new look..'shabby chic' but I can't say that I really knew what it was until I happened across this page.

Now me being me, and ever soooo hard to please, Judy took the time to listen. She actually went out shopping just for me! She was able to see what I was wanting and then went way over and above what I was expecting.

On the front cover, I have delicate lace, wonderful pearls, the prettiest wee mulberry roses in shades of pink and cream, shimmery white ribbon and to top it all off...the most gorgeous butterflies I have EVER seen. They are delicate, sparkly, they come in all sizes and they all have pretty pearled bodies in white and pink.

On the front inside cover you can find matching lace, pearls and a dedication from Judy to Faerie Amma. There is even a wee little pocket just under the row of pearls and if you look close enough there are pearls on the upper corners.

On the back inside cover you'll find a matching design from the front inside cover but this time inside the pocket (upon my request), Judy has created pretty scalloped introduction cards of herself and her company.

I would like you to meet Judy from: https://www.facebook.com/inkypinkydelights

Please do drop in and say 'hi'...in fact tell her that Faerie Amma recommended her page to you  :)

Now for what you have all been waiting...look at my new stunningly beautiful, 'shabby chic' book. I can't thank you enough Judy for all you did to create this masterpiece.

The hard part is yet to come...as I really can't imagine using it!! How could I ever want to use such a beautiful keepsake. I will admit, it will probably become just that..a keepsake sitting among my faeries in all of it's splendour. Guess, I will have to pay Judy another visit to get another one that isn't quite so elaborate :)

Love Faerie Amma"

I truly am in awe of my new gift to myself...

It's all about the look!

With the upcoming Fort Smith Annual Trade Show happening this April, I have been busy trying to figure out what I could do differently. You know, how to stand out, be noticed.

At last year's show, I was lucky enough to get a corner booth. Well, I thought I was lucky at the time. It turns out that having a corner booth allows people to converge on two sides of your tables and not just one. This would have been awesome if it was people that were interested in my faerie nursery but unfortunately, it was more like a gathering place to visit and catch up. I found that those that wanted to see what I had couldn't even get to my tables. I wasn't too happy in the end and knew that I would have to do something different.

So....I came up with an idea. Not sure if it will work or not but I'm going to give it a shot anyways.

When I came up with (okay, I had lots of help on this part) the background for my company. The stump, the grasses and flowers, the purple and pink sky and the little stepping stones that you had to take to come see the faeries...this allowed you to leave your world and enter mine. So...here is my world. Everyone is welcome.

I now have a tent. It is a white indoor trade show tent that measures 10'x10' in size.

I have banners. These ones stand outside of the tent.
I purchased 3 8' long banners that I will put up on the outside walls of my tent.
I have 4 wall panels (well actually not yet, I am still working with a few manufactures but the design is ready. These panels will be hanging on the inside of the tent.
I have indoor/outdoor artificial grass carpet that will fit the full floor size of the tent.

I have my tablecloth (thinking about ordering another one but not right now) that matches the full theme.
I have hanging pink silk flowers/vines that will be attached to the rafters of my tent.

I have twinkle lights (well, they are on order). I opted to go with just plain white ones so as not to take away from the feel.

I have carpeted cut out 'stones' that will be placed just outside of the tent for people to follow their way in.

I have table accessories including vases with flowers, more risers for my faeries to stand on and other goodies.

I am still looking for the following: music, candy and a defuser that I like.

So what do this all add up to?? I want everyone to feel like they have actually entered my faerie nursery. You will walk in and be with the faeries. No distractions.

I read that you should allow your visitors to experience the whole thing by using all of their senses. So that is my goal. I think that I have done pretty good so far.

What else could I do, for visitors to feel like they have stepped out of reality and come to my faerie nursery.

Any thoughts, suggestions or ideas?

Flower Petal Faeries

Well there are many components to this project!

Firstly, the wire. As this is a speciality cloth wrapped wire I must say I have had a lot of difficulty in finding what I want. The wire that I was able to get is of the correct gauge but I wished that I could have found it in other colours.

Perler Beads, not as easy to come by as one would think. These are used underneath the bottom layer of petals to make them balloon out.

Feathers....I thought that some of the Faeries should have real feathered wings not sure how they will work but I look forward to experimenting with them.

I recruited my Mom and my husband to spend an hour or two taking apart flower heads. Thank you sooooo much :) Now, I should have all of the flower petals that I will ever need to complete a whole bouquet of Flower Petal Faeries.

As well, I purchased more of the wooden boxes that I need to hold all of the Faeries precious goodies. These need to be stained to match the doors.

Sparkly Little Flowers

These have got to the be the prettiest little sequins I have EVER seen.

At first I was afraid that they might be too large to use as decoration on the little Petal Faeries but actually holding them in my hand.....they will work PERFECTLY!!

I ordered these from Craftaroo (ebay)....if you are looking for any scrapbooking supplies...this is the place to shop from :)

I decided to take two individual pictures as their are two different kinds of sequins.

This first picture shows all of the opaque ones....black; baby pink (which to me, looks more peach than pink!); white; hot pink; purple; baby blue and yellow

This next pictures shows the shiny ones :)  They are all titled rainbow colours....blue/green; pale pink and pale yellow

Aren't they just adorable!! And to think...they only came as a set of 6000! Yes, you read that correctly.....6000!

I will try my best not to use up all the rainbow ones first...it will be tough though :)
