An Unexpected Gift...

I have never used this blog to really showcase other people's work but today, I need to share with you something that I purchased from across the pond...  I will just copy exactly what I shared on both my business and personal page on Facebook as a tribute to the creator.

"Well you know when you purchase something and you just know that it is going to be perfect and be everything that you ever want it to be?

I can say that today, I am more than overjoyed at my latest gift to me from my faerie nursery...well okay, I purchased it to use in my faerie nursery...and NO, the faeries are NOT going to get their wee hands on it! For how much I just love their little drawings...no, no, no, no, no!

I had seen this ladies work and just instantly fell in love with the creativity, flair and beauty. Just by looking at her finished pieces you could see the pride she takes in her work. Now I have heard a little bit about the new look..'shabby chic' but I can't say that I really knew what it was until I happened across this page.

Now me being me, and ever soooo hard to please, Judy took the time to listen. She actually went out shopping just for me! She was able to see what I was wanting and then went way over and above what I was expecting.

On the front cover, I have delicate lace, wonderful pearls, the prettiest wee mulberry roses in shades of pink and cream, shimmery white ribbon and to top it all off...the most gorgeous butterflies I have EVER seen. They are delicate, sparkly, they come in all sizes and they all have pretty pearled bodies in white and pink.

On the front inside cover you can find matching lace, pearls and a dedication from Judy to Faerie Amma. There is even a wee little pocket just under the row of pearls and if you look close enough there are pearls on the upper corners.

On the back inside cover you'll find a matching design from the front inside cover but this time inside the pocket (upon my request), Judy has created pretty scalloped introduction cards of herself and her company.

I would like you to meet Judy from: https://www.facebook.com/inkypinkydelights

Please do drop in and say 'hi'...in fact tell her that Faerie Amma recommended her page to you  :)

Now for what you have all been waiting...look at my new stunningly beautiful, 'shabby chic' book. I can't thank you enough Judy for all you did to create this masterpiece.

The hard part is yet to come...as I really can't imagine using it!! How could I ever want to use such a beautiful keepsake. I will admit, it will probably become just that..a keepsake sitting among my faeries in all of it's splendour. Guess, I will have to pay Judy another visit to get another one that isn't quite so elaborate :)

Love Faerie Amma"

I truly am in awe of my new gift to myself...

Jewelled Wings

With more on the way....the nursery is now surrounded by sparkly, jewelled delicate butterfly wings. My only wish is that they were real but these will do. As I mentioned previously, I want to have the feel of the Teacup Nurseries to be whimsical and very exaggerated. So your teacup will have the tiniest of a wee little faerie house and it will be surrounded by trees and flowers and bugs and mushrooms and butterflies and....well the list can just go on and on and on....and on as far as my imagination can take it actually.

So here they are.....90 of the prettiest little butterflies that are no bigger than an inch.....

Rainbow Chests

I had a few trinket chests that I decided needed to be completed over the last few days. Once you take apart all of the tiniest little screws that I have EVER had to work with and then make sure that you don't mix up all the hardware with the chest that it came to....the fun begins. Usually I make sure that all of the paints go hand-in-hand and are coordinated in their rightful colour schemes. This time....well, lets just say that I kind of went off kilter!! As I only use environmentally safe paints (everything is water-based, even the Varathane!!) it is easy for me to paint in the workshop with little ventilation required. Plus, using water-based paints make the drying time feel like a snap! I decided this time to start with the outsides of the boxes, not sure why...just did. All my colours are usually dark and jewel-toned for the exterior just to make sure that there is great coverage and the different shades of the wood don't show through. The insides are a bit easier as they are usually filled with little trinkets. Don't worry though, they still get the exact same treatment as the exterior does, having two coats of colour and then 2 coats of Varathane. The only difference is that the interior gets the matte finish of the Varathane and as I love shiny and sparkly things....the outside gets the full gloss :)  While painting away, I was looking at all of the other colours I had on the shelf and things just started to fall into place. So now I ended up with a rainbow of trinket chests.

Even better then all of the above!! I sent my daughter on a shopping spree (as she actually lives in civilization where there are stores!!) and asked her to pick me up 20 more bottles of paint. So off she went...with two kids in tow. I get a call the next day saying that my granddaughter Rebecca was allowed to pick all the colours of paint for me. Now you have to picture this...we all know that paints are arranged on shelves that are closest to the floor correct? Well my granddaughter will be two in September and she was allowed to just pick whatever colours she wanted. How special is that :)  I may not even want to use any of the paints now as I will want to treasure them forever. I figure that once my 'care package' arrives I will actually label each bottle and say 'hand picked by Rebecca'. As I use each colour the memories of knowing who picked it will flow through me and make me smile. I will even save the bottles so I can show her when she is older that she helped her Amma Emm :)

Cybr Trayd

I love this title. My final package of the day (yes it was a parcel day for sure)....came from a company called Cybr Trayd (ebay).

This package contained 3 of the 4 soap molds and some sparkly powders for our soap.

I am not sure exactly what happened to the 4th tray but an inquiry has been sent in.

But these are the ones I received today...

The Honey Bee (for Christmas 2012)

The Partridge in a Pear Tree .... the Pear

And for the Sugarplum Faerie...there are actually 4 designs on this mold tray (hard to take a picture of clear plastic)

The mold that is missing is for the Nutcracker Prince. I will keep you posted on its status.

The final part of this parcel is the sparkly stuff :)

It is called Shimmering Lustre to give soap a festive shine! I thought that it would be a nice touch for the Faeries and who knows....just might go crazy and use it for all of them! I purchased the gold and pearl colours.

Shiny Petals

They are so dainty and pretty, I almost hate to take them all apart.

BUT....I also can't wait to make some of the Faeries have sparkly little dresses!

These little flowers are of the softest purple hue I have ever seen.

These next ones are pretty-in-pink

And the last stem has sparkly sheer petals.

Fit to be tied and all I need now is a old oak tree!!

Ribbons, organza and tulle....

Yes, a new package came in the mail, this one from orgazabag (ebay).

To follow with the company theme colours my first order of ribbons and such has arrived.

As this particular company only carried 'Plum' and not an 'Eggplant' tone of purple it will be interesting to compare the two colours once the other one arrives. I guess that will determine who I order from again.

So this is what I ordered for the 'Old Gold' colours.

This is a beautiful glittery sheer 3/8" organza ribbon.

This tulle is 6" in width.

These little bags are 3x4" with a pretty little ribbon for a closure. I'm not sure what exactly I am going to use them for yet but they were the right colour and I got them at an awesome price. As this package only came with 30 little bags I will need another set if I am to use them for this year's parcels. Thinking I will probably order some more of this size and also the next size up.

Now this is the 'Plum' colour (the official company colour is actually 'Eggplant')

Again this is a 3/8" sheer organza ribbon that has a wonder sparkle to it.

And the 6" tulle....
