The Air Pocket Compulsion

i don't think that i am able to walk past a sheet of bubble wrap without having to stop but the question is whether i or you for that matter, can stop at the first balloon? yes, i will admit of being guilty when it comes to NOT being able of walking away but i'm wondering then if i would feel like i didn't do my civic duty to the 'bubble'.

it all begins with the gentle pressing in of the very first one and then waiting to hear that burst of air that makes you feel like you are jumping out of your skin with anticipation. from there it just turns into a frenzy of twisting, turning and squishing about so it almost sounds like popcorn jumping around in a hot oiled pan. 

but then there comes the feeling of panic, dreadfulness and even anxiety as you find yourself at that last blister. you know the one, that one that makes your heart slow down and your fingers to freeze up just incase you can't stop in time and you end up making that last move too soon. and then it happens you hold your breath, close your eyes tightly and try to lavish this very and last final pop before it is time to walk away as there is no further reason to stay.

with Etsy the protocol when featured in a Treasury is to ('heart') like all of the other artist's photos that they have collected but this process, well it almost feels like it is only a formality of politeness.

but how can you combat the rules, the contract, the obligation? well i Blog, i Twitter, i Google +, i Pinterest, i Facebook, i Website it (i'm pretty sure that i do more but well those are the ones that i can see on my saved tabs above).

The Dream and Lie that never were.

Not knowing where one might be after the mist 

rises from the depths of the valley; 

it is here that I'm left pondering if my seeing 

what actually is there any better than the impenetrable lie that I keep close to my heart and hide in my mind.

It is always and amazing feeling when someone has gone through hundreds of pages and though thousands of listings...and here they stumble onto not one but two of your wee faerie items and picked them to be shared through a treasury of theirs!

On top of all of that....I have read her Handmade Artists profile and you know what....except for me not knowing what Downtown Abbey is...and that I have unfortunately never been to a Renaissance Faire before but have a dreamed of going to one, well for most of my life...I feel that we could just sit down for hours and well take about everything we have in common. And trust me it would take more than not just one cup of tea...but possibly even a few pots!!

From the cozy corner of the nursery...

I have been huddled away here in the nursery for a few reasons...

1. the weather...it's cold outside
2. my health has crept back to the forefront of my life again
3. it is the busy season for the nursery
4. it's still cold out there
5. I have ordered so much product that I have to somehow find places to put it all
6. it's still very cold out there
7. I am surrounded by beauty in my little nursery with twinkling lights, hanging vines and fancy silk flowers, faeries that I have made and some that I have bought and all of my ideas and dreams circling around me.

This is my sanctuary. I am at home here. And did I mention....it's cold out there!!

So...today, being a Sunday, being Sunday, November 10, 2013 which normally is a rather quiet day, being a Sunday and all. I had quite a few wonderful surprises happen.

1. The Faery World magazine was printed today and my ad was placed on the front inside cover. Ms. Tee Gregory (Owner) has the most coolest way to view her website that you can actually see my advert for yourself. Thank you so much.

2. I received an email from Bethan Davies (Founder/CEO) for CraftStar, an on-line e-commerce store that I am a member of. This email informed me that my work was included in their 25 Magical and Fantasy Gifts Guide blog and on their YouTube video! Both Snowflake and Raven of the Northern Faeries Line were featured. Thank you so much.

3. I have joined 5 new Facebook groups - Handmade Crafts; Arts and Crafts for Sale; Handmade With Love Creations; "Crafty We R" ONLY Hand and Homemade Craft Sales, Tips and Help, and Craft Crafts where I have featured my Northern Line Faeries and I can't believe the wonderful and kinds words and messages that other members have left for me. Thank you so much.
